Overview Affinity Groups Hall of Fame award MGA GOLD Achievement award Global Humanitarian Technology Conference YP project

Introduction Hall of Fame to recognize the most outstanding GOLD Affinity Groups throughout the world IEEE is successful due to Individual contributions AND also outstanding group work displayed by member Important to not only reward individuals but also groups Crucial to recognize the Affinity Groups that play a role in helping their members succeed

Benefits Encourage the GOLD AGs to provide more excellent service to their members Increase the number of higher quality GOLD activities Increase GOLD awareness in IEEE Inspire formation of additional GOLD AGs Automatic documentation of excellent IEEE activities for future GOLD members to see

Eligibility and Evaluation (1) Basic Requirements Met Hosted the GOLD reception for graduating students and/or STEP program Were the events reported through L31 and/or vTools in a timely manner Hosted a minimum of two activities

Eligibility and Evaluation (2) Member Participation Average attendance at GOLD AG events (relative to the section GOLD membership) The ratio of attending members to GOLD volunteers Member Awareness, Interest, & Satisfaction Through the use of formal surveys, the degree to which GOLD members are aware of and/or interested in the affinity group and its activities

Eligibility and Evaluation (3) Volunteer Recruitment The degree to which the affinity group has attracted new volunteers Increased Membership Year-over-year growth trend in the member retention for that section Percent of GOLD and student members that renewed their membership for the following year.

Eligibility and Evaluation (4) Volunteer Ownership The scope and depth of activities and events offered by the affinity group. Total number of GOLD events held (relative to the section size and number of volunteers) GOLD programs creativity and innovation Variation in the types of activities (Technical, Professional, Educational, Social, etc)

Nomination and Timeline 1-3 GOLD affinity groups from each region to be nominated by the current or past GOLD Coordinator of the respective region Nomination deadline: January 31 annually Judging Completion: March 31 Four Judges selected annually from the MGA GOLD committee by the MGA GOLD Chair Winners Announcement and Notification: Early April

Award Three GOLD Affinity Groups awarded annually Each winner will receive a plaque and $500.00 and it is expected that the award money will be used on initiatives or activities that benefit GOLD members in the Affinity Group Awards will be presented at an IEEE event Winners recognized on GOLD website (listed in Hall of Fame page) and GOLDRush

MGA GOLD Achievement Awards GOLD Achievement Awards (6 awards annually) Purpose: To recognize those substantive projects or achievement of a relatively short nature (one to three years) but which have left an undeniable imprint on the fabric of GOLD operations.  The award will be based on a selection that recognizes individuals involved with GOLD activities who are recognized for singular achievement in the development and completion of a project(s) or activity(ies) which are directed to the fulfillment of one or more of the GOLD goals and/or objectives. Especially engraved plaque emphasizing "Exemplary Achievement in Implementing MGA Goals and Objectives of GOLD operations" and a cash prize (US$250).
