Girls Soccer 2019 Informational Meeting Download the app, Dragonfly Max

No student can engage in conditioning or tryouts until forms are completed in DragonFly Max. Physical Exam must be signed by a physician and uploaded (take a picture). Must be dated after April 15, 2019.

Optional Conditioning will begin the week of June 17 until the Dead Period, June 23- July 6. Mandatory conditioning and Practices will begin the week of July 8th. A conditioning/practice calendar will be presented after tryouts. Conditioning is a chance for students to get in shape. Mandatory conditioning will begin the week of July 8th. Students will need to always bring tennis shoe s for inside and cleats for outdoor running, and appropriate clothing (we may hold conditioning inside or outside). Summer Conditioning

Students will meet at Room 711 right after all- remaining is called. Students will then be given time to change into their appropriate apparel in the 700 Wing restroom. Students are not permitted to bring soccer balls. Conditioning will end at 5:00pm and will be held Mon- Fri unless otherwise stated. Pick up is at the field if outside, 700 Wing if inside. Promptness is required, and I will keep track of which players’ rides are late. I will be sending out info on games, practices, schedules and changes through remind. Please sign up ASAP: SCMGirlsSoccer       https://www.remind.com/join/fgbef4 Fall Conditioning

Players who play for Stones River or other travel teams Playing with travel teams outside of school is permitted. However, the SCM team will take priority for practices and games. If you are on the SCMS team, you must make all of our games.

Practice once school starts We practice Mon - Fri after school until 5:30. Times will be adjusted when we get into season.

JV and Varsity Not all teams in the county have JV Many JV players may be asked to play on Varsity, too. Grade level will have no influence on Varsity/JV or playing time. Players who are initially placed on Varsity may be placed on the JV team. Varsity and JV players may be asked to play on both. Varsity games always start at 4:15pm and JV at 5:30pm Varsity players are not required to stay and watch JV, but it is encouraged JV and Varsity

Game Day Home games – RED JERSEYS Varsity players will stay after school. JV not playing varsity must be back 45 Minutes before the JV game. Away Games – WHITE JERSEYS Players must get their own rides to away games. Varsity must be on the field ready to play 30 minutes before the game. JV – minutes before the game Schedule

Player Fee - $125 Covers referee fees, assigning fees, field maintenance, and apparel that players will keep. If there is an issue with paying this fee, please speak to me or have your player speak to me, and we will work something out. Do not let the fee dissuade your student from desiring to play.

Behavior and Grade Expectations A behavior offense (email from a teacher, dean, or something that happens in my class) will result in running and possibly sitting out of games 3 behavior offenses of any sorts will result in getting kicked off the team - no refund or exceptions Red cards in games (fee you must pay and game penalties - will go with you to high school if in 8th grade)

Behavior and Grade Expectations The expectation is for all players to pass all of their classes with nothing lower then Cs in any class. I do not consider Ds passing. I will periodically check players’ grades. There should be no missing assignments. If a player can not keep up in the classroom maybe sports is not the right idea. Players will be given time to work on getting grades up. If more than one F, you will most likely not be permitted to play on the team anymore. If you have an F on a progress report or report card, you will not play two games. (or indefinitely until grades have been shown to be brought up) If you have a D on a progress report or report card, you will not play one game. Extra conditioning will also be used for poor grades.

Parent/Guardian Promptness for Practice and Games Please be prompt for every practice and game. Prompt is a few minutes early, not a few minutes late. Be sure to get transportation handled before the day of the game. It would be wise to get your player to figure out if there is someone she can carpool with if an issue arises, I will never drive players anywhere; you are not permitted to ask me.
