How to Earn Honors Designation in Your Block Class 2018-2019
The 1st Way to Earn Honors: Be referred to Advanced Learning by a teacher or family member between May and September. (Kindergarten-8th Grade) Go through a Seattle Public Schools testing process (CogAT) Have high achievement scores in Reading and Math (SBA) Be determined by Seattle Public Schools to be eligible for Advanced Learning. A teacher, or a family member can refer you to be considered for eligibility before September 24th by logging into the Source, and clicking o the “Advanced Learning” button to start the referral process! At Mercer, There are Two Ways to Earn an Honors Designation in Your Block Class!
The 2nd Way to Earn Honors: Before your Semester report cards, show that you have exceeded grade level standard in both of the reading and writing assessment types below. Your Narrative and Argument On-Demand Writing assessments demonstrates key writing skills above your current grade level on the writing progression (See example below) Your Reading Lexile score is “Advanced” on the Reading Inventory.
