TOP 5 TEACHERS. You can play Top 5 THREE ways. As a team, they take a guess and get points. One guess / team and then the next team has a guess. Give a 10 sec. time limit. Continue until all the top 5 are chosen OR there are no more answers. As a team, they get 5 guesses at what is in the top 5. They ones they don’t get, the other teams can steal and get DOUBLE the points. Continue to the next team, which starts the next category. A great way to make this truly whole class. Give each student a piece of paper with the a place to write the category name and 5 choices. Each student writes down their choices. Give them a one minute time limit / countdown. Then, A. the team leader counts the total points for the group B. each individual totals their own points. Play a set number of rounds. Team or individual with the most points wins! **** when playing, make sure that students use WHOLE responses. For example, “ I think that ___________ is in the top 5!” or “ I am going to say, __________ is in the top 5.” Teach these responses. You can also rearrange the slides so that you use only those categories you think your students will enjoy and can answer. Also make your own! Just make multiple copies of slides, then enter your own categories and answers and then hit SLIDE SHOW! I will be making an intermediate and advanced version shortly.
