Inhibition of forskolin-induced cAMP accumulation in microglia by group III mGlu receptor agonists and receptor coupling to pertussis toxin-sensitive G-proteins. Inhibition of forskolin-induced cAMP accumulation in microglia by group III mGlu receptor agonists and receptor coupling to pertussis toxin-sensitive G-proteins. Microglia were treated with 100 μm forskolin for 10 min, followed by the group III mGlu receptor agonists l-AP-4 (100 μm) orRS-PPG (100 μm) with or without 500 μm or 2 mm MAP4 for an additional 10 min. Control cells were not forskolin treated or exposed to group III mGlu receptor agonists–antagonists. Microglia were treated with PTX at 1 μg/ml for 22 hr before the measurement of cAMP accumulation with the mGlu receptor agonists as above. Data are the mean ± SEM of a least three determinations. ***Significance levels are shown when compared with forskolin-treated cells (p < 0.005).ns, Not significant. Deanna L. Taylor et al. J.
