Network Services Evolution and Development WP6 Task 2 Network Services Evolution and Development Roman Łapacz TNC19, Tallinn 7C: Multilayered service orchestration and monitoring 18 June 2019

Key objectives of Task2 (1/2) To build a consensus-building team drawn from the NRENs to consult with the wider NREN community (paying due attention to international collaborators) to establish and maintain consensus on a direction for interoperable network service orchestration, automation and virtualisation (OAV), which will then drive the further work of Task 2. In response to specific identified use cases, to foster partner interoperability by piloting enhanced/new technology-agnostic service platform components, based on interoperable standards in a multi-domain environment.

Key objectives of Task2 (2/2) To identify existing and/or develop new software components and APIs needed to enable single and/or multi-domain service orchestration and partner interoperability. The task continues the work on the Service Provider Architecture (SPA) in particular looking for possibilities to grow the services offered through the self- service portal (SSP) and other SPA components.

The Service Provider Architecture (SPA) The Service Provider Architecture (SPA) is a software architecture for an OSS/BSS solution bringing OAV (orchestration, automation and virtualisation) mechanisms to be used in the R&E environment by GÉANT and the NRENs. Provide a common way to introduce new services Reuse available common blocks Fast forward new service development User-centric Unified view of service offerings, service monitoring and management TMForum standards

Conclusions SPA – user-centric, standards-based OSS/BSS platform to manage network services Continuation of OAV efforts started in GN4-2 Focus on standards and quality Deployment in the GÉANT network – the GCS service Collaboration with WP7 and WP9 We have plans to enhance and improve SPA Next releases, next deployments, next services managed by SPA and use cases
