Mrs. House’s Neighborhood 33rd Grade August 29- September 2 D Dear Parents, We have had another wonderful week. Thank you to everyone who was able to make it to Curriculum night. I hope all of your questions were answered. Ellendale Elementary is such a wonderful school and there are always exciting events to look forward to. Here are a few we don’t want you to miss: 8/29: Parents can begin joining children for lunch. 8/29-9/02: GO JIM GO donations accepted. Donations earn students a Le Bonheur heart and a ticket to dress as a super hero Friday 9/02. 9/05: Labor Day-No school. Please be safe and enjoy the holiday. 9/09: School Dance and Book Fair **Wear Ellendale spirit wear Fridays** Remember: Part of your child’s homework is to read 20 minutes each night. Please make sure they are being responsible for this. ELA: We will read chapters 4-6 of Sarah, Plain and Tall in our small groups novel study. The students will have a quiz Friday on their vocabulary and comprehension questions. ***Student advertisements are due this Friday, September 2*** Social Studies: We will be learning about latitude and longitude and comparing physical and political maps to help us interpret maps. Science: This will be an exciting week in science as we begin our STEM lesson and the students experiment with germinating beans. The students will be completing a study guide to prepare them for Chapter 1 test. Math: We will continue working hard on multiplication using visual examples and solving and creating multiplication word problems. The students will quiz on 10s and 11s for their multiplication facts at the end of this week. **We still need the technology fee for many students. Please send those in as soon as possible.**
