LERF CM Supplemental Testing & Change Management Curt Hovater Transition to Operations Review: LSCL-II Cryomodule Commissioning in LERF November 12 - 13, 2018

Supplemental Tests Change Process Outline Supplemental Tests Change Process C. Hovater, Transition to Operations Review: LSCL-II Cryomodule Commissioning in LERF

Supplemental Tests During the cavity and cryomodule testing there will be opportunity for additional supplemental testing. Examples LLRF: Algorithm development, automated Apps etc. CM Cryo controls System Controls development C. Hovater, Transition to Operations Review: LSCL-II Cryomodule Commissioning in LERF

Supplemental Tests Cont. Process Test need is identified If SLAC initiated a JLAB co-sponsor is assigned ATLis is submitted by JLAB ATLis goes through approval process Test time/date is assigned (M. Drury) Test Day/Swing/Owl If remote users need access, JLAB RF/Cryo Operator asks Operations crew chief for channel access on the required IOCs Test begins with JLAB co-sponsor and RF/Cryo operators participating and monitoring the tests At the conclusion an elog is submitted describing the work done and system changes (if any) C. Hovater, Transition to Operations Review: LSCL-II Cryomodule Commissioning in LERF

The plan is to use the “Best” practices as applied at CEBAF Change Process The plan is to use the “Best” practices as applied at CEBAF All work is planned and approved using ATLis Software and HW changes. Changes made while supporting active commissioning or CM tests will be eloged that shift whether completed or not. Most of the changes will be in firmware and software Changes are committed to the associated version control system We do not expect many hardware changes. The system (mechanical and electrical) is the production LCLS-II L1 LINAC hardware. An early December teleconference is planned with SLAC personal to go over the work planning & change process. C.
