Suggestions on 16m MAC Message Table Clean-up IEEE 802.16 Presentation Submission Template (Rev. 9.2) Document Number: IEEE S802.16m-10/1086r1 Date Submitted: 8-17-2010 Source: Kelvin Chou Voice: MediaTek Inc. Problem of existing message tables Current MAC message table in D7 is confusing Ambiguity in array representation Ambiguity in condition of each parameter Not easy to reflect ASN.1 design philosophy using a table

Suggestion on the table format A 16e-like table format (C80216m-10/1060) Use if/else statement in the table for conditions Use for-loops for arrays Separate ASN.1 design philosophy from the tables Resolve technical issues using the tables Easier for ASN.1 experts to understand the message design and ASN.1 translations ASN.1 development goes parallel with message table cleanup Interactively until two converge with each other

Suggestion on the next step There are many MAC messages Require cooperation among members for the table reformatting task System information Power Control Network entry / re-entry MediaTek Collocated Coexistence InterDigital Network exit MIMO Connection management FFR Security SON ARQ Relay Sleep mode EMBS Handover LBS Idle mode Samsung Misc Multicarrier Samsung, MediaTek
