PSELI and Data What is social-emotional learning data? SEL data include measures of students’ social-emotional strengths, challenges, and skills -- as well as adults’ social- emotional competencies and practices. How can we use the data? Each year’s data informs the next year’s planning. We can explore patterns in order to improve practice. Keep in mind: Data can be used at different levels depending on the goals of who is using the data, such as: SEL leadership teams looking at school level or grade level (i.e., average SELWeb for a grade) Teachers or OST instructors looking at student level (i.e., individual student HSA portraits) What questions can we explore? Which social-emotional skills are most difficult right now for our students? What do our students feel are their social-emotional strengths and challenges?
