RFID based attendance system using GSM BY MAMATA YADAV

Introduction Problem statement Objectives Block diagram Circuit diagram Methodology Applications Limitations Future scope Conclusion CONTNTS

INTRODUCTION Now a day, generally attendance is paper based which may Sometimes errors and taking attendance manually Consumes more time.. In this system, Each student is issued a RFID tag. The Controlling unit is in institute. Whenever, the card is placed near inside Reader, it will take the attendance and increment the student attendance Variable. In case if the student is absent for any class day the gsm module is Used to make a sms to their parents inform

To overcome the ordinary method of taking attendance by calling names or signing on paper. To record the student attendance in database for long period and also sends alert SMS to their parents. OBJECTIVES

FLOWCHART

BLOCK DIAGRAM Arduino Mega 2560 RFID Reader RKI 1512 LCD 1602 GSM PC (server) RFID Tag PARENTS mobile Power supply

CIRCUIT DIAGRAM

High performance, low power microcontroller. High endurance non-volatile memory segments.. Open source design based on the larger AT mega digital I/O pins and 16 analog I/O pins. 256KB of flash memory, 8KB of SRAM, 4KB of EEPROM. Clock speed: 16MHZ. WHY ARDUINO MEGA ?

WHY RFID READER? It gather the data information from RFID tag It transmits signal at certain frequencies i.e 125kHz Read distance :-10 cm It transform the energy from one circuit (reader) to another (card) in the form of EM at radio frequency to mutual inductance.

IC chip (unique hexadecimal or electronic product code) It store 2KB of information in its microchip Memory reprogrammed and permanent. Frequency: 125KHz Why RFID TAG?

To cater voice service and data delivery using TDMA Used for Mobile communication SMS forwarding SIM900A is a dual-band GSM/GPRS engine that works on frequencies 900MHz and 1800MHz. Supply voltage: 3.4V to 4.5V RTC Support SIM Upload transfer data: 42.8KBps, download transfer data: 85.6KBps Temp: -30°C to +80°C Speaker input Storage temp: -5°C to +90°C WHY GSM?

METHODOLOGY

DATABASE

It can be used in the educational institutions, bank office, industries, anywhere. RFID is emerging technology and is used where authentication application is needed. Don’t require human involvement to collect data i.e automation Other application People track Document tracking Health care Manufacturing Department of road transportation and highways Apparel tracking Laptop tracking APPLICATIONS

Can be extended to embedded system. Ex:- the RFID chip can be embedded within the laptop for tracking Wild animal tracking Automated toll collection FUTURE SCOPE

This system are designed and implemented to manage student data and provide capabilities for tracking student attendance Applying RFID technology as the attendance process is quite efficient, fast, paperless It also minimize the cheating process by the student, teacher, workers, employ etc compare to the attendance process using conventional method CONCLUSION
