Why? In the past, employers have had an abundance of qualified (and over-qualified) applicants to choose from. This is no longer true. Over the next decade, Montana will be facing a worker shortage due to the rush of retiring baby boomers. Our economists are projecting our workforce will grow by approx. 45,000 workers (or 4,500 per year). Unfortunately, we will NEED about 7,300 workers per year to fuel the economy. Simply put, we will not have enough people to fill the number of jobs that we have open. Statewide = 3.5% Cascade Co = 3.2%

Supply & Demand Problem I pray I can find a good job! I pray I can find talented workers! The link between “potentially talented job seekers” and “employers needing talent” are too often left up to chance!
