Letter to Future Ambassadors
Rationale and Outcomes Clarify system Add value to the system to make it more desirable Children to develop pride in their own achievements Children developing independence Developing children’s sense of responsibility British values Community cohesion opportunities Opportunity to develop links between home and school for levels and give talk to launch Contributions to school and local community GREAT DREAM mental health benefits Release pressure from Y6 teachers as sole arbiters
To Earn Each Level Children collect a person portfolio of evidence to show they have achieved something from the list of options for that hero. Evidence might include: signed statements from Teachers, coaches or other relevant adults, certificates, pictures of action, examples of work or a personal statement from the child. The child will then present this evidence to the school council who will either approve the application or give it the status ‘not there yet’.
The Courts will review the evidence and their decision is final. The ‘Court of Appeal’ If a child is truly convinced they do deserve the level but failed to convince the School Council. They can apply to the ‘Court of Appeal’ to ask that they review the application. (The ‘Court of Appeal’ will consist of The Head Teacher, School Council Lead and at least 1 Year 6 Teacher) The Courts will review the evidence and their decision is final.
