Healthcare In Briton, we have a free at use healthcare system that is paid for through taxation. However there has been a rising cost over the past few years. When it started it cost £100 million but that has risen to £95.6 billion in just England!

Why The UK’s poor diet is key factor, with diabetes set to cost a sixth of the health budget A 1/3 of adults drinking more than the recommended levels. And children consuming three times the level of sugar they should

What is being done Laws are being proposed to strict the advertising of sugary foods to children Companies by law have to display ingredients clearly Alcohol limits are very low driving in Scotland, 50mg in every 100ml of blood.

Substance Abuse Although touched on earlier, we do believe this is a genuine problem amongst young British people

What is done Education in schools Strict laws against drugs, preventing people under 18 from buying alcohol and cigarettes

Youth Unemployment Scotland has a youth unemployment of 15.9% so with 1,042,597 people under 18, there are many struggling to find a job. People are working for longer with the retirement age set to rise

What we believe could help Help people move into jobs after school, many are unsure on what to do. Improve education so we learn vital skills for work Insure there are more options for education, or so that people can afford to go to university.

Children In Care 49% of children in England who are in care have been separated from siblings There can be lifelong consequences of being separated such as social difficulties and trust issues with people later in life When children are being fostered it can be difficult to adjust to a new environment, having their sibling may help them to feel more comfortable There are cases where children are split up for their own safety and wellbeing

What the government is trying to do Encouraging more families to become foster carers More support for separated siblings to keep in touch eg. overnight stays However, it is difficult as it is a huge commitment to look after even just one child who is in care, some children can have two or more siblings

Britons on Benefits 30,000 Britons are living on unemployment benefits in the UK 2.5% of Britons in other European countries are claiming benefits A majority of people out of work have large families and are living on benefits and not trying to find work The purpose of having benefits is to help with living expenses, such as gas, electricity and food, while looking for jobs and it should encourage job seeking

The government plans to make cut backs and limit how much families The plan is to limit benefits to £26,000 a year, which is the equivalent 37,050€ When the new law is enforced families living solely may be more encouraged to find a job to provide for themselves and their families
