OUR MISSION Interpreters of the Deaf, LLC strives to utilize available technology to provide a comprehensive continuum of effective and accessible communication services to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. “As Deaf consumers, we have first-hand experience, knowledge and a Deaf perspective about how interpreting and C-print services should be provided.”

Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community Late Deafened Adults According to the National Center for Health Statistics 2001 National Interview Survey, approximately 31,231,000 Americans* have trouble hearing. * Adults 18 and over (this does not include children)

What is C-print? C-print is an abbreviation system developed by Rochester Institute of Technology National Institute for the Deaf Rochester, New York more commonly known as “text interpreting”

C-print vs. Other Options Allows for a conceptual transcript during the lecture Allows students to highlight what they deem is pertinent information Allows for interaction Cost effective Note taking is personalized and biased by the person taking the notes FM systems can have static interference – not useful for speakers with accents CART technology is costly
