Context: John 7:30-52 There was much discussion in the temple compound as to whether Jesus was the Messiah. (John 7:31) The Pharisees and chief priests hear the mutterings of the people and send officers to arrest Jesus. (John 7:32) After the officers return “empty handed” (John 7:45) and the Jews question, “Why did you not bring Him?” The temple guard replied, “Never did a man speak the way this man speaks.” Truly the Bible records the words of some great men like Moses, Solomon and Elijah, but no man ever spoke like Jesus. 8/12/2019
