Robot Game Updates Patrick McNally

Field Where all the action happens

Missions The opportunities for the Robot to score points

Models All LEGO objects already on the Field when you get there

Equipment Everything the team brings to the field, including the Robot, jigs, and attachments

Basic Match Flow Teams bring their Equipment to the Field for inspection and setup/calibration After a countdown, Robots are Launched and given 2 ½ minutes to autonomously accomplish Missions Teams may Launch the Robot multiple times At the end of the match, teams must stop their Robots The referees will score the board with the team Only the final condition of the Field is evaluated for scoring At least three matches, though only the best counts

Field Components Mat – Includes the launch area and all Missions 12-inch height limit at launch Home – The entirety of your storage area All Equipment must remain in Home while not being used All Models starting in or brought Home must remain in Home while not being used Robot and cargo must be fully in home to interrupt it without penalty

Inspection Areas Before the match, teams must show that all Equipment fits in either the large or small area (12-inch height limit) Fitting in the small area grants the team advantage 5 points added to each Mission where you score ANY points 10 points added for Mission 2 Does not apply to Mission 14 (Precision Tokens)

Mission Demos

Important Ensure your Models are built correctly Can use any software to program the Robot Only one Robot is allowed at each match (no laptops) You must arrive a few minutes prior to the match time on the schedule to allow time for inspection and setup/calibration Teams should not touch anything on the Field except for the Robot Anything the Robot alters stays as-is unless the Robot alters it further Robot Performance is 25% of the teams final score
