PHOTOTROPISM?

Describe and Draw Plants response known as Phototropism Describe and Draw Plants response known as Phototropism. Which structures of plants have positive response to light? Be sure you include the role of light or radiant energy

You’re right, plants stems and leaves respond positively to light or radiant energy. This is known as Phototropism.

GRAVITROPISM?

Describe and illustrate gravitropism in your graphic organizer.

Which structures of plants respond positively to gravity? Why?

You got it! The roots are the structures in plants that respond positively to Gravity. And we call this tropism as Gravitropism.

Thigmotropism?

Thigmotropism Touch Me Not is a thigmotropic plant. Discuss with your team what this means?

Indeed you’re right. Thigmotropic plants are very sensitive to touch Indeed you’re right! Thigmotropic plants are very sensitive to touch. We call this tropism in plants as Thigmotropism.

Turgor Pressure?

PLANT IS WILTING OR DYING DUE TO LACK OF WATER INSIDE ITS VACUOLES PLANT IS IN RIGID CONDITION VERY HEALTHY DUE TO MUCH WATER IN ITS VACUOLES http://www.kscience.co.uk/animations/turgor.htm

Describe the condition of a plant due to lack of water? How do you call the condition of a plant it has much water? How do you call plants tropism due to having lack of water or plenty of In the vacuoles?

Let’s Practice on Tropisms in Plants due to forces acting on them Let’s Practice on Tropisms in Plants due to forces acting on them. Identify which tropism is shown in the pictures.

TURGOR PRESSURE

PHOTOTROPISM

Vines climbing walls

THIGMOTROPISM

PHOTOTROPISM

DESCRIBE THE CONDITION OF EACH PLANT. WHAT CAUSES THESE SCENARIO TO OCCUR?

THE PLANT OF THE LEFT IF WILTING. (WITHERED) THE ONE ON THE RIGHT IS RIGID OR TURGID. (HEALTHY)

Now complete your Vocabulary Organizer on TROPISMS on Plants Due to the forces around them. Make sure that your work is neat And yourdescriptions are complete. Color it neatly!
