Now I am going to show you that I can build a model to show you that 200 is 10 times greater than 20. 1- I will make a group of 20 2- Then I will make 10 groups of 20 3- What is the value of my 10 groups of 20 rods? 4- Now I can regroup my rods and exchange them for two flats.

Let’s do 10 times as many as 13 together 1- we need to get 1 rod and 3 units to represent the amount we are starting with 2- we need to build 10 more groups that are exactly the same (1 rod and 3 units) 3- Now We want to look at what we have and see where we can make trades 4- Once we have made our even trades we need to write our multiplication problem
