We dropped four eggs with different number of rotors on each of the egg. One had four, three, two, and zero rotors. We were trying to find out if we can slow the eggs descents without parachutes.

In our experiment we learned our propellers create drag to slow down the eggs. When the propellers spin it creates lift that goes in the direction as drag. This cause the more rotors on the eggs will slow down the eggs momentum. In helicopters when the engines burn down the propellers will create enough drag to slow down the helicopter and help the pilot survive one more day.

We wanted to see if the most amount of rotors will slow down the egg the most We dropped the eggs with different of amount of rotors on top to see which one would take longer to hit the ground compared to an egg with no rotors. Our hypotheses would be right if the egg with four rotors hit the ground last. Our hypotheses would be wrong if any other egg with less rotors landed last.

Our hypothesis is what we expected because the one with the most rotors hit the ground last and the rest were in order. The order was the more the rotors the slower it goes just what we predicted would happen. blue-rotors Red time 6.1 sec. 5.2 sec. 4.5 sec. 3.6 sec.

The data represents that the blue is the number of rotors it has and the red is how long the rotors took to hit the ground. The one that had no rotors took 3.6 sec, 2 rotors 4.5 sec, 3 Rotors 5.2 sec, and 4 rotors 6.1 sec to hit the ground. This shows that the 4 rotor egg took the longest that proves our hypothesis right.

We are comfortable accepting our hypothesis and we got the data we were expecting by running our experiment
