Improving our Timing

The Timeliness of God All creation relies on the timeliness of God. (Psalm 145:15; Lamentations 3:22-23) In bringing salvation to man (2 Timothy 1:9; Galatians 4:4-5; Romans 5:6)

Good timing or timeliness is a matter of providing… What is needed When it’s needed As often as it’s needed (reliably, faithfully)

Improving our timing We need to be timely with our good deeds and acts of service to others The Lord’s steward provides for others “in due season” (Luke 12:42-43) We are to maintain good works to meet “urgent needs” (Titus 3:14) “As we have opportunity” (Gal. 6:10) When we have the means to help! (Proverbs 3:27-28)

Improving our timing We need to be timely with our words To say what is needed (Ephesians 4:29 Proverbs 15:23) To offer appropriate rebuke and correction (Proverbs 9:8; 17:10; 28:23; 26:4-5; 25:11-13)

Improving our timing We need apply timely discipline… -- in the home (Prov. 13:24) -- in society (Eccl. 8:11) -- in the church (1 Cor. 5:1-5; Tit. 3:10)

Improving our timing We need to be timely when it comes to confessing our sins and praying for forgiveness! (Psalm 32:5-6; 69:13; 2 Cor. 6:2)
