The quantity of 5 times m decreased by 7 2.) 8 less than the cube of r 1.) The quantity of 5 times m decreased by 7 5m-7 2.) 8 less than the cube of r r3 - 8

Objective(s): SWBAT: apply their knowledge of writing and evaluating expressions involving numbers and/or variables to completing at least 3/7’s of the real-world problems on their study guide independently before discussing with a partner. 6.EE.A.1 6.EE.A.2 6.EE.A.3 6.EE.A.4

Classwork: Study Guide Students will work independently on their study guide. After 5 minutes, students will turn and talk with their neighbor to discuss the first problem. We will then check in as a class before repeating the process over again for each of the remaining problems. Rules: -You are to try and answer the problem we are currently on silently and independently (to the best of your ability). -You are allowed to move on to the next problem if you finish before the 5 minutes. -At the end of the 5 minutes you are to turn and talk to your neighbor about the specific problem we are addressing (your conversation should stay focused on the math problem). -You are to compare your answers, discuss any differences you might have while RESPECTFULLY defending your answer, or explain to your partner if they were unable to find the answer.
