Figure 1 Model for All-in-One pAgo Mechanism Unguided pAgo preferentially chops foreign DNA, creating short dsDNA fragments. These fragments are selectively loaded based on the presence of a deoxyguanosine residue opposite the 5′ end of the guide strand. Upon binding to a chopping product, guided pAgo cleaves foreign DNA in regions specified by the guide strand.
