Richard Goodwin Managing Director Strategy Update AKA: Re-invention! Richard Goodwin Managing Director

Our mission is to provide safe and high quality learning and career management experiences to enable our customers to progress in education, work and life.’ We do things properly and we do them well.

What are our activities? Business Public Sector Sales & marketing related apprenticeships Sales Executive apprenticeships Employability EPAO Policy Officer apprenticeships Diplomas in Adult/Child Care Diplomas in Business Specialist function apprenticeships Event Assistant Apprenticeships Spectator safety training (traineeships, AEB) Live Event Rigging EPAO Events Focus

Shown at Team Forum Feb 19 Shown at Team Forum Feb 19 2017/18 was a record year and a big transition This year we need to make the new products work: Commercial traction for Apprenticeships (amongst levy payers) Stretch Diplomas into higher education and generate leads from digital marketing Win ESFA/GLA tenders: Adult Education Budget, win ‘Heathy Futures 2’ ESF Establish ourselves as EPAO in promising markets

4-5 months later, how have we done against these objectives? 200+ Enquiries Real Pipeline 80% Levy payers Interest from 2 HEIs; process may take 18 months Investment made in digital marketing 4-5 months later, how have we done against these objectives? Commercial traction for Apprenticeships (amongst levy payers) Stretch Diplomas into higher education and generate leads from digital marketing Win ESFA/GLA tenders: Adult Education Budget, win ‘Heathy Futures 2’ ESF Establish ourselves as EPAO in promising markets Won London AEB ESF still to be announced Registered as EPAO Accepted for 2 standards 2 more applications First assessments in July

What else? Sales Executive Apprenticeship gaining traction: Other new apprenticeship programmes Spectator Safety – lots of demand; fitting it to funding structuresg 16-18 Traineeships for crowd management, football coaching and construction EPAO – a new business Layer up differently funded programmes to provide long term employability and skills support

The Financials and Corporate Impact of Markets + In terms of sales 2018/19 was our second best year ever: £3.8m JGA continues to be profitable Won valuable Adult Education Budget contract for London Growth in 16-18 traineeships Re-launched the apprenticeship provision entirely on new Standards Direct apprenticeship starts grew from low single figures in January to 20 in May. Aim 30 per month in winter. Launch and first approvals for EPAO - Diplomas are under pressure from universities removing entry restrictions. Launching new projects is long hard work. We keep on keeping on!

Some market data

More market data

In summary Target continuing high success and satisfaction rates and continually improving quality – we are investing hugely in quality and learner support We expect sales to be lower than 2018/19 as HSC/IT subcontractors drop out, Healthy Futures and National Careers Service have ended Financial aim for the group overall to continue to be profitable in 2019/20 EPAO to scale rapidly and reach in-month profitability Direct apprenticeship starts to reach 30/month by financial year end
