Jellyfish and polyps

Main characteristics of Jellyfish and polyps 1) They are invertebrates. 2) They dont have brain. 3) They have special body systems. 4) They have tentacles with stinging cells

Jellyfish

How does Jellyfish reproduce? First the male jellyfish produce the sperm that are released out of the mouth. The sperm swim into the mouth of the female jellyfish and fertilise the eggs. The fertilised eggs are released and float to the bed of the sea. They are now called Planulas and will float for up to six days until they attach themselves to something hard like a rock or shell

How do they breathe? Jellyfish breathe through their internal cavity. Jellyfish breathe by gas diffusion through all the surface of their body.

How does Jellyfish eat? They first sting their prey. Then with they long tentacles that have in their mouth they pick up the small fish and other jellyfish.

What does Jellyfish eat? Jellyfish are carnivores. They eat small fish and other jellyfish. Larger jellyfish also eat large crustaceans.

Polyps

Some information about polyps. They have soft body. They also have a suction cup that one end of their body. The body of polyps is composed of cells.
