Why Study Hope? We are enlightened (Eph. 1:18) We are different (Eph. 2:12) We are unified (Eph. 4:4) We are prepared (1 Pet. 3:15)

What Is Hope? Hope is not just “wishful thinking” Hope is (1) expectation plus (2) desire

The Expectation of Hope God (Heb. 6:18-20) Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 15:19; 1 Pet. 1:3, 21) The Scriptures (Rom. 15:4; Col. 1:5, 23)

The Desire of Hope Present salvation: daily Christian living (1 Thess. 5:8) Future salvation: home in heaven (Col. 1:5)
