POLI 4843 Politics and Peace: Northern Ireland Fall 2015 Tuesdays 4:00-6:30pm This course will examine a wide range of political, social and economic issues related to the conflict in Northern Ireland. Students will be asked to draw upon a selection of primary and secondary sources directly related to better understanding what is euphemistically known as “The Troubles”. Students will assess the impact of the peace process with a focus on contributions made to peace in Northern Ireland by a variety of groups, individuals, communities, politicians and world leaders. This will include an examination of the intent and impact associated with a decade long collaboration between Saint Mary’s University and Peaceful Schools International throughout Northern Ireland.
