E.Y.F.S: Personal Social and Emotional Development (PSED) 7 areas of learning The 3 Prime areas: Personal Social and Emotional Development (PSED) Communication and Language (C&L) Physical Development (PD) The 4 Specific areas: Literacy (L) Mathematics (M) Understanding the World (UW) Expressive Arts and Design (EAD) These 7 areas are met through indoor and outdoor play, where free choice is encouraged. These are the areas the children will be assessed in. We will hold further workshops regarding end of year expectations.

Things your child will need for school Red book bags need to come to school EVERYDAY for guided reading books. Full school uniform including black sensible shoes. EVERYTHING SHOULD BE LABELLED! Outdoor play is encouraged during all weather conditions so please ensure your children are dressed appropriately, you can bring wellington boots in a plastic bag. Reception only P.E kits should stay at school, they will be used as a change of clothes and for PE and will be sent home when dirty.
Support your child at home Reading Guided reading books will be collected on a Monday and new ones given on Tuesday. You should support your child to read the book and complete the red reading record. Phonics Every week your child will be given all the sounds and key words learnt that week at school. Name writing Please encourage your children to write their names independently, using a capital letter and then lower case. Homework Will be given on Fridays and should be put in the homework box by the children by Wednesday. Characteristics- Try new things like the Very Hungry Caterpillar. Writing books Books will be sent home every week with a specific writing task.

Healthy School Your children are given fruit and milk everyday at school, they do not need to bring a snack. Water bottle We will be brushing teeth at school, more information to follow.
How you can help us!!! In the morning please can all Reception parents stay behind the red line and use the table as a round about. There will be members of staff to make sure children get to their own classes safely. In the afternoon all parents make a line outside the classroom so children can be released safely. Please read all newsletters as these will tell you up to date information about: assemblies, important dates, workshops times, etc.
Donations At Sudbury Primary we aspire to enrich the curriculum with a variety of different resources and activities. In order to provide regular cooking and creative activities and to maintain an interesting and engaging environment we may ask for you to donate items such as bread, cereal, flour or salt.

We have 4 different colleges. Each has its own animal and planet. The College Area is by the main entrance. Look out for various activities through out the year Points Nursery will be split into key worker groups and they will participate in team activities this way.
