The Controls Landscape Individual control Good for basic control functionality Deep energy savings possible Dark holes Distracting on/off Zone 1 Zone 2 Zone 3 Zone 4 Zone 5 Zone control Good for basic control Cost effective Network control Wiring and zoning of luminaires Good for data management & reporting Requires commissioning expert Additional material cost – eg. Gateways

Zonal Controls vs. Granular Dimming In existing buildings, pre-existing zones and circuits have been a barrier to deep energy savings in open plan offices Zone 1 Zone 2 Zone 3 Zone 4 Zone 5

Granular Dimming for Deep Energy Savings Unique (Philips only) feature

Granular Dimming for Deep Energy Savings Unique (Philips only) feature Every luminaire gets an integrated sensor – occupancy, daylight & IR sensing Upon entering the SpaceWise luminaires detect movement and the luminaires turn on at a background level. As occupants settle down lights dim up to task level (determined by the daylight sensor and the wattage trim level). As workers move away, their lights dim down to the background level. When the group is entirely empty lights turn off.

So how do we make SpaceWise even better? Philips SpaceWise DT Simplify the technology Expand the offering

Moving SpaceWise technology to a new platform RF 0-10V Gen2 Controller Sensor Xitanium 0-10V Driver LED Board Existing Solution (SWZ G2) EasySense sensor SR / DALI Driver LED Board New Solution (SWZ DT)

SpaceWise DT sensor capabilities Occupancy sensor (PIR) – each sensor can share occupancy information with other sensors. Daylight sensor – each luminaire is a daylight zone, no need to plan & define separate daylight zones. Infrared sensor – point to point commissioning is easier & more flexible than “discover” commissioning Wireless receiver & transmitter – wireless signal into the application space (more robust) LED indicator – Red means occupancy detected, orange means vacancy detected Mask – Alter the occupancy coverage area
