Kindergarten Transition 2019 Parent Information Night

The Early Learner Learning is fun. We learn best when we are relaxed and happy. Transition activities are designed to link preschool to school by using the concepts of play and student directed learning. The environment is familiar to the students in order to make them feel comfortable and relaxed. NOTE: To change images on this slide, select a picture and delete it. What to expect- Transition Sessions Meet outside the Kindergarten classrooms 9:15am- Doors will open, collect name tags Encourage your child to sit on the floor with the teacher Parents gather around the classroom Begin with a song & story Free play with parent Participate in activities with your child Activities may relate to the shared text or to early learning such as fine motor, art & craft, etc. The last session, parents will be invited to pray with us and the buddies will then escort your child up to the transition sessions.

What to expect…

Familiar Faces… Mrs Deborah Trim Mrs Kylie Sheehan

Preparing your child for school Dressing themselves Start small Socks & shoes Tucking in shirt Tying shoelaces would be amazing! Time management Gradually give more responsibility to your child eg. Ask them to get their outfit ready the night before. Practise getting organised by a certain time in the morning

A book every day helps in every way! Begin a routine each day that involves reading to your child. This encourages a love for learning and a positive attitude towards reading. It helps prepare you and your child for a healthy routine for when we being home reading.

First weeks of School Investigative Play - Each day will begin with investigative play activities that are similar to what the students will experience in transition. - We aim to make your child feel comfortable and at ease in their environment while they meet new friends and learn through play.

Let the adventure begin…
