Presentation transcript:

Homework #7, Due June 3rd Find a THEMIS interval of interest to your research. Read the thm_sst_cleanup.pro and crib_sst_contamination.pro routines. Plot one energy, four phi, and one theta spectrogram from SST i+ and e- Provide the spectrograms in elevation angle from individual detectors. Do not mix detectors. This is done by selecting theta=[-45,0] , or [-90,-45], or [0,45] etc. Note the angles are listed on page 48 of the notes and in Angelopoulos, 2008 (The THEMIS mission) but if the center of a detector falls in the selected range it will be included. Provide the same plots but using cleanup methods to remove the masking, the sunpulse and the electronic contamination. Compute the moments of the ESA for the same interval. Compute the moments of the SST for the same interval, using the same cleanup keywords determined from the above cleanup method. Add ESA and SST moments to compute density, velocity and thermal pressure Add the magnetic pressure to compute total (particle and magnetic) pressure. ESS 261 Low Energy Particles1
