PURPOSE OF AANAPISI The overall purpose of these programs is to provide grants and related assistance to AANAPISIs to enable such institutions to improve and expand their capacity to serve Asian Americans and Native Americans Pacific Islanders and low-income individuals. Purpose of your program—your grant, of course, must address this purpose. Remember the focus is on institutions not individual students. Students will benefit as a result of improved institutions.

2015 Competition Highlights 30 Applications received 27 Applications reviewed 4 applications from schools in the Pacific, 2 from Guam, Palau, and Marina Islands. 3 applications from schools in the east coast schools.

Competition Highlights (con’t) Applications were received from Illinois, Nebraska, Nevada, Minnesota and Texas. 2 Applications from Washington Largest bulk from California Highest Score was 106 Cut off Score for funding was 100.33

FUNDING FY 2016 The requested appropriation for FY 2016 funding for the AANAPISI Part F is $4,635,000. Planning for at least 14 to 15 new awards with a yearly budget of $300,000.
