PROJECT

Description Googlazon, a large technology company, is renovating their Newark, NJ facility. The project consists of the demolition of existing steam piping and the replacement of such. The demolition portion of the project has been handled by Googlazon and is not part of your scope. Googlazon has secured all the required permits for the project and now is going out to bid on the replacement of the steam piping. Bid the according to the bid documents only. If it is not stated in the scope of work and quantities, it will be an extra to your contract.

Bid Information Bid Due Date: December 6, 2016 by 10:00 PM Eastern Time Bid to be delivered electronically through NJIT Moodle in PDF format if possible Project Mobilization: 2/1/2017 Project Completion: 3/15/2017 Project to be worked 8 hours/day, 5 days/week This is a union project. Pipe fitters will install piping and supports/Insulators will install insulation and jacketing.

Scope of Work Steam Pipe 4” carbon steel schedule 40 Indoor 550 LF Outdoor 200 LF 2” stainless steel pipe Indoor 120 LF Outdoor 80 LF 4” carbon steel 90 degree elbows schedule 40 Indoor 6 each Outdoor 4 each

2” stainless steel 90 degree elbows Indoor 6 each Outdoor 4 each Welded Supports Indoor 35 each Outdoor 15 each

Work Description 4”/2” Pipe runs indoors in an MER on a pipe rack at 15’ Elevation 4”/2”Pipes exit MER through wall penetrations to the outdoors and elbow up along the building wall to the roof. Pipes elbow from the risers onto the roof and tie in to existing steam piping on the roof. The pipes elbow onto the roof at 35’ Elevation

All piping is to be installed and then insulated. All piping will be insulated with 2” thick fiberlass pipe covering with an all service jacket. All outdoor piping will have an added jacket of .016 corrugated aluminum over the insulation. All elbows will be insulated with PVC fitting covers with 2” thick fiberglass inserts.

Requirements Description of your plan for preparing this estimate (1 page summary). Some items to include but not limited to these are: Steps you will take Items you will consider Calls you would make (vendors, etc) Tasks Breakdown (How are you going to break down the estimate)

Estimate sheets with calculations and final summary sheet Estimate sheets with calculations and final summary sheet. I have attached the sheets to use. I would like to see a an estimate sheet for the insulation and jacketing work and a separate estimate sheet for the pipe installation and supports. Please use the attached estimate calculation sheet and final summary sheet for your calculations and final cost tally. Your thoughts on Overhead and Profit (1 paragraph) Bid Price Final Man Day Count and Crew Size you are proposing

Comments I have attached labor productivity rates and material costs. Labor productivity rates are for standard work, standing on the ground, on a sunny 65 degree F day. Need to consider SF of aluminum jacket when pricing up materials. Insurances and taxes are figured on the base wage only, not any fringe benefits. Attachments will include estimate forms, labor rate packages for pipe fitters and insulators, labor production rates, material costs, rental rates, and insurance/tax rates.
