The Path To College Part I: Inspiration & Motivation

Higher Education: Class discussion Why go to college? Why not go to college? EVERY STUDENT IS DIFFERENT SO WE NEED TO UNDERSTAND THE REASONS BEHIND THEIR ATTIDUDES TOWARDS HIGHER EDUCATION IN ORDER TO MOTIVATE Have the students make a list of all the reasons someone might go to college on one side, and all the reasons not to go to college on the other. Now ask the students if all the reasons listed are accurate, and whether they are good reasons to go to college or stay away from college. Through discussion, students discover that most reasons to go to college are good ones, and the reasons to stay away are typically not valid.

Benefits of Higher Education 1.) Secure job future and placement 2.) Ensure competitiveness in job field 3.) Broaden your horizons 4.) Having a job, you can live a better lifestyle 5.) Have a status of prestige 6.) Help others who are in need 7.) Self satisfaction and confidence
