Number of Environments Type (Topology) Description Azure space and Up Time Statistics Training CRP Tier2 (Standard UAT) The training environment is used for Business Process Training, Business Process Workshops, Conference Room Pilot (CRP) activities and testing.   This environment is initialized from the startup with the Xpress model. After CRP1 the environment is refreshed data from Configure and migrated data work progresses through the Build and Deploy phases. Microsoft cloud – Always on Explore Tier1 (Develop) The Explore environment is a copy of the TrainingCRP environment and is used for self-study and validation of configuration changes. This environment is important to allow users and consultants to try out things in a way does not impact the activities in the TrainingCRP environment. CSP Azure Subscription – Average uptime – 4 hours/day. Migration The Data Migration environment is dedicated to iterative execution and testing of the data migration solution. Data Migration work usually start during Business Process workshops or after CRP1. CSP Azure Subscription – Only up during Migration development and testing. Approximately 20% uptime ($750/year) Configure The configuration environment is necessary as a gold master for configuration management. The Configuration environment is typically on-boarded right after CRP1 CSP Azure Subscription – Only used during setup and changes. Approximately 20% uptime Build Tier1 (Build/Test) The build environment is part of the Software Development lifecycle (SDLC). The SDLC requires Build, Quality assurance (QA) and at least 1 Developer environment. The environments are needed when Hotfixes, Updates, Custom code and certain 3rd party software components are introduced. CSP Azure Subscription – Only used during Build distribution. Approximately 20% uptime. Environment Type (Topology) Description Azure space and Up Time Statistics QA Tier1 (Develop) The Quality Assurance (QA) environment is for unit testing included in the SDLC. (See above) On implementation projects with large number of customizations, 2 or more QA environments may be required for parallel unit testing in order not to extend the timeline. Microsoft cloud – Always on DEV The Development (DEV) environments are often VMs on the developer’s individual laptops. We recommend at least 1 DEV environment in the managed subscription. This is to allow for technical exploration and fast transfers of databases etc. for quick turnaround of hotfixes and troubleshooting. CSP Azure Subscription – Only used during Build distribution. Approximately 20% uptime ($750/year) Production Prod The Production environment is set up just before User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Microsoft has a checklist that ensures that a certain level of readiness is achieved before they will provision the environment. We will perform the final UAT in the Production environment, and then reset and run the cutover for Go-Live. The production instance cannot per the license agreement be used for other activities. Other Varies Other Add-ons can be added for performance testing or specific purposes   Subscription Includes: Production, Test, Sandbox

Calculated Annual Azure Cost Cost of Environments Typical Azure machine required to run D365 is D13. D13 Azure consumption priced at $1.70/hour. Environment VM Type Approximate Usage Calculated Annual Azure Cost Explorer D13 24hr/8760hr/year $15067.02/year Migration Configure Build DEV Michael.Hull@Fullscope.com
