DSSM – Distributed Shared Services Model Plan Development Core Team continues to draft shared services plan being reviewed by the full project team, and the governance groups Functional Team Update The AP and Payroll process splits developed during Workshop #2 have been sent to teams for review and comment The Procurement Team is continuing to work on the future model for strategic procurement (sourcing and category management). The discussions will result in a recommendation to be included in the plan. DSSM – Distributed Shared Services Model Data Analysis Activities Campus data validation in process Transaction data validation in process Data analysis results to be completed by 11/19 Service Delivery/Budget Activities The Service Delivery/Budget Team held a meeting to discuss the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and technology requirements A technology survey has been developed and sent to campuses to gather information about enabling technology that is in place that could be leveraged in the future by a shared services organization A service delivery team meeting is scheduled for November 28
DSSM – Distributed Shared Services Model Project Governance A Steering Committee meeting was held on November 9. An update from Workshop #2 was provided The Steering Committee and the Associate VCs of Admin and Finance are traveling to Yale on November 16 to visit their Shared Services operation and meet with their leadership to learn about their shared services activities The Advisory Working Group will meet in early December Communication Activities A project update was provided to the Academic Advisory Council (AAC) A project website is now available. The website contains information about the planning phase, Shared Services resources and examples, and a Q&A section.
