Symmetry Can you Fold it?

What is Symmetry? An object is symmetrical when there is a place where it can be folded and the sides line up perfectly. Objects can have more than one line of symmetry. Mirrors are often used to demonstrate symmetry making two sides of an objects identical.

What are the kinds of Symmetry? Vertical If folded on a vertical line the object is identical Horizontal If folded on a horizontal line the object is identical Diagonal If there is a diagonal line that makes the two shapes identical Multiple The object can be folded on more than one line.

Vertical If folded on a vertical line the object is identical

Horizontal If folded on a horizontal line the object is identical

Diagnol If there is a diagonal line that makes the two shapes identical

Multiple The object can be folded on more than one line.

Lets find the symmetry of these figures 1. one line of symmetry and it is diagnol 2. zero lines of symmetry 1. 2.

You try! Click the one with the correct line of symmetry. Question 1

Question 2. What kind of symmetry does the figure have? Click the correct answer. Diagonal Vertical Horizontal

How many lines of symmetry does the figure have? Question 3. Click the correct answer. 1 2 4
