There are 5 Peacock Pride Awards Physical Award – your health and well being Responsibility Award – leadership, taking on roles and responsibilities Inspiration Award – being creative in the Arts and DT but in other subjects too Drive Award - being the best you can be all of the time Engagement Award - being generous with your time and skills in and out of school

There are 3 stages to each award BRONZE SILVER GOLD Each stage has a range of challenges

Peacock Pride Awards. What’s in it for you? The awards give you formal recognition for your achievements and a badge to wear with pride. Automatic entry into prize draws for every award you achieve. You’ve got to be in it to win it! Encourages you to participate in and enjoy a variety of aspects of Academy life. Encourages you to become self assured learners. Encourages excellent attitudes to learning that will have a strong, positive impact on your progress. Creates healthy competition amongst Houses/Tutor Groups.

Peacock Pride Awards Bronze PHYSICAL AWARD Silver Gold   Signature PHYSICAL AWARD Bronze 3 must be completed to achieve the award 1 Attend 10 extra-curricular sport club sessions. 2 Wellbeing: run a mile without stopping. 3 Represent the Academy in 1 sport. 4 Take part in a sport/physical activity outside of the Academy. Detail: 5 Promote understanding of mental health issues OR healthy living by e.g. a creating a learning resource for display. 6 Participate in a Physical House event. Silver 4 must be completed to achieve the award Attend an additional 10 extra-curricular sport club sessions. Wellbeing: run 1.5 miles without stopping. Represent the Academy in 2 sports per year. Take part in sport/physical activity outside of the Academy on a regular basis. Take on a role in the Belvoir Primary Schools sports competitions or something similar e.g. as ref for a match/event. Promote understanding of mental health issues OR healthy living e.g. through specific activities during PSHCE days or to the tutor group. 7 Participate in 2 or more Physical House events (not including the event for Bronze). Gold 5 must be completed to achieve the award Attend an additional 15 extra-curricular sport club sessions. Wellbeing: run 2 miles without stopping. Represent the Academy in 4 sports per year. Represent a sport at a county level outside of the Academy. Prove consistent dedication to another sport out of the Academy. Lead an event to promote understanding of mental health issues OR healthy living. Lead a variety of Physical House events. . .

PHYSICAL AWARD Ideas board Here’s some ideas to help you achieve the criteria for the Physical Award…. Get involved in sports clubs – you could develop your skills, learn a new one and maybe get selected for a team. Get involved in a sport/physical activity outside of school e.g. a running club/team sports/dance classes. Enter/support/lead a House event. Create a fact sheet/poster to promote the importance of a balanced diet and how it could be achieved. Just an idea…… Keep a food diary over 7 days to show how much fruit and veg you have eaten. Use the results to write a report and make recommendations.

Peacock Pride Awards Bronze Silver Gold Be part of the School Council.   Signature RESPONSIBILITY AWARD Bronze 4 must be completed to achieve the award 1 Be part of the School Council. 2 Help run an extra-curricular club. 3 Support an Academy event e.g. sports day/visitors tours of the Academy. 4 Lead a warm up in a PE lesson or extracurricular physical activity. 5 Support your tutor in tutor time routines. 6 Support a subject teacher in classroom/lesson routines. 7 Become a subject leader/ambassador. 8 Support the organising/running of a House event. Silver 5 must be completed to achieve the award Organise an event for an open evening or similar. Help organise and co-lead an extra-curricular club. Lead tours for visitors to the Academy. Form a committee within the School Council. Organise a team of subject leaders/ambassadors. Lead a drill with at least eight pupils in a PE lesson or extracurricular activity. Support a teacher in the delivery of part of a lesson. Lead a House event for your year group. Gold Become the Chairperson/Secretary of the School Council. Organise and lead an extra-curricular club. Lead representatives from each form in a programme of assemblies. Lead a School Council initiative e.g recycling or similar. Take on a leadership role at a sports club outside of the Academy. Lead a group of pupils to promote a subject at Options Evening. Speak at an Academy event. Lead a range of House events across the Awards. .

RESPONSIBILITY AWARD Ideas board Here’s some ideas to help you achieve the criteria for the Responsibility Award…… You could help create new displays or new resources for a subject you enjoy. You could start a new subject specific club e.g. a History Club and help run it or lead it yourself. Help organise/run/lead a House event. Become an ambassador at the Year 6/7 Academy show matinee performance. Year 8/9 students could assist with running drama club.

Peacock Pride Awards INSPIRATION AWARD Bronze Silver Gold   Signature INSPIRATION AWARD Bronze 4 must be completed to achieve the award 1 Attend 5 creative extra-curricular club sessions. (drama/art/music/dance). 2 Attend a live performance trip or exhibition e.g. an Academy visit to a theatre, art gallery or museum. 3 Learn how to play an instrument/music technology (or similar). 4 Participate in an Academy show/concert (perform/back stage/band). 5 Produce a high quality creative piece of homework for display (any subject to sign off). 6 Participate in an Inspiration House event. Silver 5 must be completed to achieve the award Attend an additional 10 creative club sessions (drama/art/music/dance). Entry into an additional 2 creative extra-curricular competitions. Evidence some research on a creative practitioner and present it AND produce a high quality creative piece of homework for any subject. Subject teacher to sign off. Experience and then review a live Arts event e.g. in an Academy magazine/create a podcast. Participate in an Academy whole school production (perform/back stage/band). Work alongside an arts specialist such as Young Americans/Leics Music Service/ a Priory Federation event etc. 7 Participate in 2 or more Inspiration House events (not including the event for Bronze). Gold Attend an additional 15 creative e club sessions. (drama/art/music/dance).    Write/choreograph/produce your own creative piece. Regularly publish reviews of live Arts events in a magazine/podcast/channel for the Arts. Develop an Arts Ambassador role with the Vale Primary Schools. Play a lead role in a whole Academy production/lead the production team/conduct the orchestra. Lead a variety of Inspiration House events. .

INSPIRATION AWARD Ideas board Here’s some ideas to help you achieve the criteria for the Inspiration Award… CREATIVE clubs include Drama, Music, Art, Dance and DT. Academy show examples: the Christmas Concert/Irish Dancing/a Drama or Performing Arts production. The Academy whole school performance e.g Grease. A creative practitioner could be an artist/performer/designer/musician/singer/songwriter/inventor/chef etc. A creative homework idea for a subject (DT): create a factsheet about a product you consider to be a classic or iconic design e.g. a British red telephone box or Dr Marten boots OR create a set of designs to showcase your idea for a new product. A creative homework idea for a subject (English): research a dystopian author/book/series and present your research to the class. Enter/support/lead a House event.

To achieve an average score of 2.0 or less for your homework in 1 progress report. 4 Achieve 96% attendance on one progress report. 5 Outstanding effort in 3 subject areas. 6 Pass the AR quiz on 2 books at the appropriate colour (English teacher). 7 Attend 5 academic club sessions. 8 Participate in a Drive House event. Silver 6 must be completed to achieve the award Making ‘expected’ progress or above in 6 subjects, on one progress report. To achieve an average score of 1.8 or less for your attitude to learning in 1 progress report. 3 To achieve an average score of 1.8 or less for your homework in 1 progress report. Achieve 96% attendance on two progress reports. Outstanding effort in 5 subject areas. Attend an additional 10 academic club sessions. Pass the AR quiz on 2 additional books at the appropriate colour (English teacher) Participate in an additional 2 Drive House events.      Gold 7 must be completed to achieve the award Making ‘expected’ progress or above in 7 subjects, on one progress report. To achieve an average score of 1.5 or less for your attitude to learning in 1 progress report. To achieve an average score of 1.5 or less for your homework in 1 progress report. Achieve 96% attendance on three progress reports. Outstanding effort in 7 subject areas. Attend an additional 15 academic club sessions. Pass the AR quiz on a further 2 books at the appropriate colour (English teacher). Lead a variety of Drive House events. .

DRIVE AWARD Ideas board Here’s some ideas to help you achieve the criteria for the Drive Award…… Get a good report by always being the best you can be! Work hard, get involved in class and get your homework done on time. Not getting 2.0 or less on your report? MAXIMISE MY LEARNING is a great way to help you get there: Actively seek ways to improve your learning by asking for suggestions and using teacher feedback; Reflect on your learning experiences and think of ways you could have improved your behaviour, effort or approach to the tasks; Approach tasks with enthusiasm and a desire to learn; Keep trying, even when you are unsure or when things go wrong. To pass an Accelerated Reader quiz you must get 80% or more. Make sure you are reading books appropriate to your reading age (colour sticker). Your English teacher will sign off any quizzes passed. Have good attendance – when you are in school you are learning. Absence will have a negative effect on your progress. ACADEMIC CLUBS are for subjects such as Science, Maths, English, French, Geography, History, and RS. Enter/support/lead a House event.

Peacock Pride Awards ENGAGEMENT AWARD Bronze Silver Gold   Signature ENGAGEMENT AWARD Bronze 4 must be completed to achieve the award 1 Demonstrate a community spirit with peers in tutor or lesson time or around the Academy. 2 Take part in a charity event in school e.g. Xmas Rotary Shoe Box Appeal/Swimarathon/sponsored walk. 3 Create a high quality poster to raise awareness of a charity event in school. Create a high quality poster to raise awareness of a campaign/issue you are passionate about. 4 Volunteer to support an Academy event e.g. Open Evening/Parents Evening/Options Evening 5 Take part in a charity event your local community. e.g. Belvoir Bumble/Dove Cottage Santa Fun Run. Name the event: 6 Be part of a community charity event out of the Academy such as with Scouts/Guides/cadets etc. Participate in an Engagement House event. Silver 5 must be completed to achieve the award Alongside your form group participate in an assembly focussing on British values or similar. Promote an awareness of cultural diversity through a presentation/visual display/worksheet. Create a power point about a campaign or issue you are passionate about for use by all tutor groups in your year. Organise/coordinate your tutor group to maximise their participation in a charity event e.g. Xmas Rotary Shoe Box Appeal. Support staff after a charity event (see examples) Represent the Academy at an external community event. 7 Participate in 2 or more Engagement House events. Gold Lead an assembly with a focus on British values for all year groups. Plan and lead a charity event for your year group. Promote awareness of UNICEF Children’s Rights Charter/The Sustainable Development Goals/The Paris Climate Agreement and present in assemblies to all year groups. Represent the Academy in Youth Parliament or similar. Demonstrate regular voluntary work in the local/wider/international community. Plan, and arrange a combined charity event with another local institute e.g. Bottesford Primary School. Lead a variety of Engagement House events. .

ENGAGEMENT AWARD Ideas board Here’s some ideas to help you achieve the criteria for the Engagement Award … Get involved in charity events at school. Help your tutor get members of your form involved. Help the organiser of the event run it on the day or afterwards e.g. sorting shoe boxes or sorting food for the food bank. Share you ideas for issues/charities you would like your year group to focus on with your tutor and Head of Year and the School Council. Find out what charity events are happening locally. Enter/support/lead a House event.
