Pediatrician

What is this job & why am i interested? Pediatricians diagnose and treat infections, injuries, genetic defects, malignancies, and many types of organic disease and dysfunction. They work to reduce infant and child mortality, control infectious disease, foster healthy lifestyles, and ease the day-to- day difficulties of children and adolescents with chronic conditions.'So basically we take care of kids, from birth to 21 years of age, when they are sick and we offer preventative care and guidance to keep them healthy. I am interested in being a pediatrician because i love kids, i’ve always loved kids. I take care of or watch children all the time and i do very well with them. This idea of being a pediatrician, was brought up to me by my mother and i’ve been thinking about doing it ever since. Pediatrician falls under “Health Science” on Career Cluster.

Lifestyle? Location? The job of being a pediatrician isn’t a job that would cause you to have to move to certain places. This job can be found in any local children’s doctors offices. There are plenty of doctors offices. Depending on if you’re living on your own or not, you could probably live a pretty good lifestyle. Being a pediatrician, you make very decent money. I think it matches the lifestyle i want to live because i just want a nice average life.

What is this job & why am i interested? I’m mainly focusing on working in a clothing store, a boutique, or owning one. This job includes selling clothes, advertising clothes, helping customers find certain clothes they’re looking for, manage fitting rooms (if any), making sure your store says organized and presentable, and working the cashier. I’m interested in this job because i love to make people happy and i absolutely love clothes. I could shop forever honestly. It’s almost as if it’s my dream to be in a major fashion industry. Fashion Merchandise falls under “Retail/Wholesale Sales and Service” on career cluster.

Lifestyle? Location? Having the job of working in the fashion merchandise industry would probably involve you moving around, depending on which industry you’re working at. Although, i’m pretty sure you have a choice on if you want to take a certain location. They can make anywhere from $40,384 to $124,728 annually. Having this career could provide a pretty decent life. When you’re first starting it’s a little below average of annual paychecks, but it only increases. This fits the lifestyle i want to have because it’s enough to support me and the nice house i want in my future.

Counselor

What is this job & why am i interested? A counselor is a person who is trained to give guidance on personal, social, or psychological problems. I’m interested in this job because i feel like i would be a really good counselor. People come to me all the time about their personal problems when they don’t know what to do about it and most of the time i have been pretty helpful. A counselor falls under “Education and Training” on career cluster.

Lifestyle? Location? Being a counselor, you would probably have to move occasionally, but i don’t think it would be too far. Depending on where you live, your location will most likely decide whether you have to move or not. There tend to be counseling offices somewhere nearby though. Your lifestyle would depend on what type of counselor you are. Educational, Guidance, School, and Vocational (Career) Counselors make about $55,970, Marriage and Family Counselors make about $47,530, and Mental Health Counselors make about $41,360. This is a pretty decent amount, but it’s nice for if you plan on living alone or getting a small apartment. This would be okay with me for when i first graduate and start my life, but that’s not how i would want things to stay.
