Presentation transcript:

Trapped Fingers In April an employee trapped her finger in a car door fracturing it. Of the 45 LTI’s reported last year, 20 were related to finger injuries, many of which were from fingers getting trapped in equipment. While the office is a relatively low risk environment, incidents where fingers became trapped in doors, resulted in 2 of the LTI’s last year. The first when a lady slipped and put her hand out which became trapped in the spring loaded door and the second where an employee accidentally closed a door while a colleagues fingers were in door jam. Similar such acts have also resulted in other fractures in the past. Here are some examples of how such incidents have occurred. In the office you still need to be aware that often the most simple actions, such as opening or closing a door, especially when carried out in a rush, can result in you or a colleague getting hurt.
