Meet Lun Nee

Lun Nee lives with his family in Srae Ampil village in Mondulkiri province. Lun Nee has four sisters.

Lun Nee is 15 but he doesn’t go to school Lun Nee is 15 but he doesn’t go to school. He is the only son and is needed to help on the family farm.

His tasks include caring for the animals (including cattle) and working in rice fields.

One of his jobs is fetching and delivering water from the village pump.

The water is good for the animals and for cooking, but needs to be filtered before Lun Nee can drink it.

Lun Nee says, ‘I prefer to work on the farm because I like working with the crops.’

One of the things that Lun Nee really enjoys is playing volleyball with his friends.

Lun Nee works every day of the week, for 7 hours a day.
