No Expressway Alliance – an introduction Launched September 2018 Membership currently 34 organisations Form Oxford to Cambridge Friends of the Earth

Aims To present the economic case against the Expressway and promote East West rail as an alternative. To represent a wide geographical spread of member groups and individuals. Conduct public activities Assemble evidence to resist the Expressway proposals.

Economic benefits Expressway 1.2 or 1.3 to one M4 relief road 2:1 – cancelled on cost grounds Benefit below which government must review the project 1:5 to one

Economic benefits – Highways England switching table To achieve 1.5 to one benefit for the Expressway Costs must REDUCE by 14% and 21% for each corridor Costs for HS 2 have doubled since the project began A reduction of 20 – 25% would eliminate all economic benefit from the Expressway/

How can you help? We need: secretary, treasurer, web site manager, social media person. Please respond to the October consultation on routes. - make the case for your locality but also oppose the Expressway in principle.
