Buccaneers SAIL Safe Accountable In Control Lead by Example

B-UMS School Resources All B-UMS students are busy learning (or relearning) about our school. Schedules, teachers, activities… We are lucky to have so many resources available to us!  What is a resource? (please define and discuss)

B-UMS School Resources B-UMS is full of knowledgeable adults who will help you succeed. We will show you an overview of our school-based resources, all of whom would say, “What do you need?” and “How can I help?”

Our Principals are amazing! MITCH WOOD, ASST. PRINCIPAl MIKE LYNCH,  PRINCIPAL Amy Cale, Asst. Principal

B-ums nurses (can be found in office b) Ms. Lori Jestice Mrs. Christina Nestor

Our secretaries Mrs. Pam Slaughter (Office A) Mrs. Maria Eddy (Office B)

Our PRO officer COMING SOON! (also in Office B) Officer Day has moved on from B-UMS to pursue a career in software technology! We will be getting a new Pro Officer soon! More info to come later!

Community Care of WV Clinic In room  99 You will receive forms for parents to sign you up for their services.  Open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday Needs updated

Our counselors (also in office B) Ms. Tanya Zickefoose Mrs. Lauren Pavlic Need pic

Your counselors are available for you: There are many reasons that a student may wish to speak to a counselor. Here are some ways you can reach out to us:  Find us in the gym any morning! Stop by Office B and ask Mrs. Eddy if we are available. Write a note and drop off in Office B (or we have a special form you can use) Ask your teacher or parent to contact us. Email one of us (our email addresses are available on our school website and also on LiveGrades) Be patient! BUMS has 2 counselors and almost 900 students!

And new this year! Our B-UMS Lifeguards!

Your Lifeguards are here to make sure that buccaneers SAIL If you don’t turn in your assignments, your teacher will work with you to get it turned in. If you still don’t get the assignment turned in, you will be placed on the ICU list. Our Lifeguards will find you at school and help you get the assignment complete. Lifeguards will find you in the hall, bus room, lunch room, class, basically anywhere you are at school. Lifeguards will meet with you individually or in groups during CARE and Lunch times (maybe more). Your Lifeguards are here to make sure that buccaneers SAIL

Why LIfeguards? Lifeguards are here to help you get your work done! They are here to hook you in, not let you off the hook. Lifeguards will be asking you 3 main questions: What do you owe? What do you need? How can I help? - Who can complain about help like that?  This Photo by Unknown author is licensed under CC BY-NC-ND.

BUMS Food Pantry We again will have a weekly food pantry to help support our students.  We are always accepting donations to the food pantry! Anyone can sign up to participate in the food pantry. Advisors, please hand out food pantry permission forms.  Students, please bring completed forms to one of the counselors.

Students have requested! We need new advisors for the running club! If someone is interested in taking over the after- school running club, please let us know!

Now that we have learned something new, it is time for a celebration! We are going to learn “ketchup applause”, here is how it works: Hold an imaginary ketchup bottle upside down in your right fist. With your left hand, pat the bottom of the bottle (your thumb and index finger) to help the ketchup come out. Great Job!
