Welcome to your Year 7 English Challenge Will YOU ACCEPT THE MISSION?

Choose one of the following challenges: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Mb1Xg48tyE During his 2008 presidential election acceptance speech in Chicago, future president Barack Obama discussed a 106-year-old black female voter, and the many changes she had witnessed in her lifetime. He then declared that Anne Dixon Cooper was one of his heroes. Watch the video link. Listen to how passionately Obama talks about Anne. Now think about who your hero could be. Who has influenced you the most to be the person that you are? It could be a member of your family, a teacher, a sports personality, a celebrity. Anybody who you think and feel has had a big impact on you. Write a speech based on this person and be prepared to share this with a Crookhorn audience in September.

OR

The Life and Times of William Shakespeare Quiz In year 7 and year 8 you will be studying Shakespeare. To become a Shakespearian expert and to test the knowledge of our current year 7s, can you create a multiple choice quiz? It needs to be based on the Life and Times of William Shakespeare and it need to be a least fifteen questions in length. We will then use this in September with the new year 8s to see how much they have remembered from this term’s learning!
