DSU Online Teaching Certification Course Learning Outcomes After successfully participating and completing this course, you will be able to: Prepare and manage a digital learning environment. Implement effective online teaching strategies that focus on the learner. Establish teaching presence to build an online community. Teri - <1 min. Module 1 Objectives — Managing a Digital Learning Environment Analyze online learning as an online student. Evaluate online course quality. (DSU expectations of course quality.) Demonstrate online orientation by communicating expectations. Summarize essential course management tasks. Module 2 Objectives — Implement Effective Online Teaching Strategies Select online teaching strategies that promote active learning online. Design a plan to facilitate discussions effectively. Analyze a synchronous discussion. Identify or develop online instructional strategies and materials, including OER. Module 3 Objectives — Establish Teaching Presence to Build an Online Community Initiate teaching presence to increase student engagement and success. Evaluate strategies and tools for monitoring and intervening with learners, including Canvas Analytics. Use timely and constructive feedback to improve learning and retention.
