The Strategic Development and Planning Team Welcome Background Vacancy Process Timeline T’s & C’s The Strategic Development and Planning Team The MMO is at a critical phase as it adapts to significant changes in our corporate responsibilities. These changes are driven by our emerging long term regulatory strategy, our participation in the wider marine Defra group, the increasing public awareness of marine environment issues and EU Exit. The Strategic Development and Planning team has a pivotal role in navigating the MMO through this extended period of change and uncertainty. It provides strong leadership to focus the efforts of all MMO teams and staff on the delivery of strategic objectives and statutory obligations. It is a small team responsible for three distinct areas of work: Strategy Development Work with the MMO Board & Executive team, Defra colleagues, staff and external stakeholders to set the long-term vision and strategic direction for the MMO as a marine regulator. Long term strategic planning, portfolio management and change delivery Work with the Board, Executive team, wider leadership team and all relevant marine stakeholders to establish a long term strategic plan for the MMO, oversee an investment portfolio to deliver the strategic plan and successfully imbed significant organisational change into business-as-usual operations. Business planning, performance management and risk management Work with the Executive team, and lead the wider MMO leadership team, to develop the MMO’s annual business plan and contribute to the Defra Single Departmental Plan. Oversee the MMO’s corporate performance management function; producing all relevant management information and for Board, Executive and Defra governance groups.
