Eligibility You and your business must meet the following criteria: The Service Disabled Veteran (SDV) must have a service- connected disability that has been determined by the Department of Veterans Affairsor Department of Defense The SDVOSB must be small under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to the procurement The SDV must unconditionally own 51% of the SDVOSB The SDVO must control the management and daily operations of the SDVOSB The SDV must hold the highest officer position in the SDVOSB

Visit the Small Business Administration (SBA) website to get up to speed on the various contracting assistance programs. Self-certify your eligibility as an SDVOSB and register on SAM.gov Certify your military service Validate your Service-Connected Disability

Executive Order 13360 directs that at least 3 percent of all federal agencies’ contracting dollars go to businesses owned by service-disabled veterans. Government sets aside millions of dollars for small business Service-disabled veteran-owned business owners have access to certain federal contract set-asides. (A contract set-aside refers to reserving a portion of public contracts to be awarded to a minority or small business enterprise.) In the past, agencies have not been able to meet their goals in contracting with SDVOSBs
