7X 11-07-2016 Monday The Industrial Revolution OBJECTIVE: Describe the Industrial Revolution and its impact on America. Agenda: Prayer Do Now: Page 389 #1A, 2A, and 3A Discuss Do Now Video and Questions Homework: Read chapter 12.2 Summary – answer questions and copy vocabulary terms in your notes.

Do Now: Page 389 #1A, 2A, and 3A #1A – The first industry to begin using machines to manufacture goods was the textile industry. #2A – Most mills were located in the Northeast, especially New England (the first mill was in Rhode Island) because it had a lot of rivers and streams to provide a reliable water supply for the water frames that power the factories. 3A – The War of 1812 encouraged American manufacturing to grow. The war led to embargos that decreased the importation of goods. We had to create the goods that we needed instead of getting them from other countries.

As you watch each video answer the following questions in your notes: What is the Industrial Revolution? What impact did it have on the lives of Americans? What were some important developments during the Industrial Revolution? Describe the significance of each. Who were some of the important people of the Industrial Revolution? What is the significance of each?
