Success of Yorkshire CAG Cricket Yorkshire CAG sides continue to perform well in ECB competitions – 2017 season: U15s Royal London County Cup A Division Champions U14s Northern County Champions U13s Northern County Champions, winners Taunton Festival Strong representation at the Bunbury Festival CAG players performing well in senior league cricket Strong and growing base of talented young players

Pathways to Excellence Pathways to Excellence structure was re-launched for the Winter 2015/16 coaching programme Continues to evolve Bringing together CAG & District cricket CAG ‘A’ Players on Silver or higher this winter, providing more spaces on Bronze to District players More player movement up the pathway: Bronze -> Silver, Silver -> Gold District cricket has been reviewed to assess consistency of programme delivery, player development and player opportunities

4 Regions – Implications for Cricket No changes to age groups: U10 – U15 Increased competition for places Higher standard of cricket, matches more competitive Similar match formats: T20, 1-day (40-50 overs) County fixtures: Cumbria, Durham, Lincolnshire, Northumberland Home & Away fixtures - 13 Days in total (15 Games) Greater CAG opportunities – smaller Development squads, more flexible selection based on form Links to Yorkshire Junior Cricket Festival (YJCF, Taverners as was) E.g. route into pathways

Delivering a Regional Programme

4 YCB Regional Conveners Create 4 Yorkshire Cricket Regional Convener roles, reporting to Regional and CAG Leads, and forming part of a Regional Committee Responsible for the development and implementation of the Regional cricket programme Enables more time for administration of the game and management of coaching staff required to deliver the programme Enables a consistent programme to be delivered across all regions Supported by YCB Coach Ed workshops and online resources CAG Lead Regional Committee Regional Lead RC 1 RC 2 RC 3 RC 4 Coaching & Management Team

Ampleforth Festival (Phase 3) U15 U14 U13 U12 U11 U10 Week 1 (Sun- Tues) July 28th – 30th Week 1 (Wed -Fri) July 31st – Aug 2nd Week 2 (Sun-Tues) Aug 4th – 6th Week 2 (Wed-Fri) Aug 7th – 9th 3 x 1D YJCF Dates: U13: 29th July w/c & U15: 5th August 3-Day Ampleforth Festival Consisting of NO CAG A Players Festival based to offer further opportunities to NON CAG A Players under the watchful eye of County Age Group Coaches Festival will consist of 3 x 1Day Games of Cricket Further develop the Boys socially and holistically throughout the festival Negate multiple days off school (played within Summer Holidays)

2019 Regional Calendar

Winter Pathways 2 Gold Centres 6 Silver Centres Post – Christmas Regional Development Training Days (Easter Holidays) Structurally very similar to today Regional Conveners to be responsible for, and have full operational control of, Regional centres Coaching programmes will continue to be developed, but also facilitate a more linear and consistent approach: Short-term plans developed for pre-Christmas Regional Centres (similar to Bronze Centres last winter) All CAG ’A’ players on Silver or Gold S&C and video analysis sessions as part of Gold Greater integration between winter & summer programmes E.g. focus on individual player technical development areas coming out of the summer season 2 Gold Centres 6 Silver Centres 8 Regional Development Centres Pre-Christmas CAG Training + Regional Centres Post – Christmas

Marketing & Communication Branding – move away from geographical districts means teams need new identities: E.g. – Central Stars, Northern Knights, Southern Sabres, Western Warriors Social Media: CAG & District cricket now well established on FB & Twitter with regular content feeds Website communications to sit in alignment with County Age Group WhatsApp used by Districts this season for team communications Roadshows to launch Regional cricket Cricket Development Managers Elite Junior Management Board Current Districts YJCF Players & Parents Local Convener Led Roadshows Review – season end survey of players and parents to gain feedback on what worked well and where further improvements can be made
