Trust Savings Credit Union Women's Organization

Executive Summary The program is geared towards building the capacity of females in developing the habits of: Savings and proper management of loans that will economically improve their lives and minimize poverty to its lowest level and The provision of Micro-loans to 50 vulnerable female heads and members of these groups within Region III of TSCU Inc., for business development and capacity building trainings on a properly managed loans that will be extended to benefit the borrowers and their communities. e Trust Savings Credit Union Women's Organization

Project Narrative (Problem and Need) The fourteen (14) years of civil unrest left many Liberian women vulnerable and abandoned by their husbands; their homes and businesses were damaged, leaving them to start their lives from zero. Now that the war is over, the government has introduced several programs to address the many problems the post-war country faces, but there still exist gaps amongst the women’s communities in the rural areas. As a result of this, these women are finding it very difficult to make a living on their own. . Trust Savings Credit Union Women's Organization

Having carefully followed these situations found in all sectors of the Liberian Communities, the need to empower these females in micro-finance and business development is a priority. With this, the living conditions for these women will be improved far beyond their present conditions. Trust Savings Credit Union Women's Organization

Project Goal Objective To economically empower the poor and marginalized people of Liberia, especially women, with a focus in three regions (Bong, Lofa and Nimba counties, Liberia) so that they may have more meaningful lives. Timeline Phrase one of the Projects is expected to commence August 2014 and end June 2015 (Eleven (11) Months of Implementations) Targeted Population Fifty (50) vulnerable female heads and Members of household above 18 that are part of the Trust Savings Credit Union Inc. Outcome/Expectations Sustainability This project is intended to be financially strong and self-sufficient after two (2) operational years. This is based on the fact that funds provided for beneficiaries will be a revolving fund. Budget Areas of Concentration Description Estimated Cost Term /Duration Justification Project Personnel US$ 10,175.00 11 Months This amount will be offered to staff as stipends for the period of Eleven (11) Months. Loan Investment US$ 10,000.00 This amount will be lent to clients as revolving fund on a quarterly basis for the stipulated time. Training US$ 2,815.00 This amount will be used for capacity building of potential clients in the area of small business development knowledge. Operation Cost US$ 12,870.00 This amount will cover all operational activities including the maintenance of vehicle, motorbike, computers, communication and repairs. Equipment US$ 2,425.00 The amount will be for the purchase of one laptop computer, One desktop computer, Projector, Projector Board and Generator that will eventually facilitate the reports/documents preparations and training. Mobility US$7,35.00 2 Years Motorbikes will be used by Business Agents to track daily field activities and vehicle for transportation(Utility). Contingency US$ 1,000.00 Contingency fund will be used for unforeseen event that may occur during the implementation of the project.
